Weekend Workout- Don’t Complicate Things

I tweeted something earlier today.  You know what it was?  The secret to everything you want in fitness.  You know what the secret is?  Nothing.  It’s not a secret.  If you work out hard, and eat healthy food all the time, there pretty much isn’t any other option than being in shape.  You need to know two things.  How to work out, and how to eat right.  More than likely, we all know a little bit about both.  Most people complicate things by saying I need to do 14 sets per body part and work out only my biceps on Thursdays, plyos on Sundays and cardio every 3rd Monday every 2nd month.  Then your nutrition has to be spot on, with 38% carbohydrates, 44% protein and 18% fat.  2632 calories a day.  No.  This, for the average person, isn’t how you should look at things.  Look at it from a general view.  Are you exercising?  Are you exercising HARD?  Are you eating the right foods?  All the time?  Those are the two questions you need to ask yourself, and the two guidelines you need to follow.  That’s it.  Once you get into being really intricate with your body, THEN you start making getting more intricate with your exercise and nutrition.  Take the first step first.  Don’t skip ahead.
